DIY: Terrarium

I was inspired by Pinterest and Martha Stuart to create a terrarium. Mine didn't come out as nice as hers, but they are still cute! When you need a little greenery around the house, but want it to be low maintenance - these are perfect! I can't keep a plant alive to save my own life! So I am a fan of these little suckers - I mean succulents.  You can buy the plants and dirt at Home Depot and the glasses and rocks from a craft store like Michael's or AC Moore. Make sure to put a few rocks on the bottom for water drainage. Then add the dirt, and decorate with more rocks on top. The aloe on the left eventually got so tall I had to move it to the tall glass vase on the right, and it still outgrew that. My advice for potting these... give them room to grow. Get a little dirty and have fun!

Sandy

A Very Crafty Easter

Easter is coming up this Sunday and I can't believe its already here. I remember contemplating going to Miami for Easter a long time ago and here we are already! Below are some images I found on Google for Easter ideas. I hope you can find some inspiration from these and make your Easter your own special day. I'll definitely try to color some eggs - adult style, and have a Spring Bouquet among all the food! Although this post is just Easter ideas... May you have a happy and blessed holiday weekend whether you celebrate Easter or Passover! XO, Sandy

Brighten Your Day with Roses

I love fresh-cut flowers. There is simply no other substitute.  Waking up with a fresh bouquet makes me so happy.  These are actually long stem roses.  I wanted to display them differently rather than placing them in a tall vase.  I found this short fat jar laying around that is slightly bigger than a mason jar so I thought this was perfect. I chopped the stems off leaving the ones on the outer edge shorter and the ones in the center longer and cut them to a bulbous shape.  How beautiful is this display!  So elegant and effortless. If you want a more modern look, this is perfect rather than the traditional tall vase.  The roses in the back are pink and yellow, but I dried those out.

Naughty & Nice: My 2 Favorite "Cheap" Wines

My two favorite cheap wines are Cupcake and Bitch. Both are delicious and such a bargain for the price.

Cupcake is a little more well- known because the vineyards are located right here in the states.  The vineyards are located in California, which I would love to visit one day.  It is offered in most medium to high-end restaurants in the country for quadruple the price. The wines offered are red, white, and sparkling. I personally like their red and white selection. It is so ridiculously smooth and delicious.

I think Bitch is the lesser known of the two but has gained notoriety because of its provocative name. Needless to say, I've never seen it carried by a restaurant and have only seen them in select wine and spirit stores.  This is a wine from South Austrailia and is more fruitier, packed with raspberry and strawberry hints. It is pretty delicious and serves as a great ice-breaker!

And the price?... Both are generally priced around $20! I've actually seen them cheaper online! Not only do I recommend these wines to enjoy for yourself in general, I especially recommend these for dinner parties and when you have guests. These have always been excellent conversation starters and ice-breakers. I can see Bitch served at the Bachlorette party, and Cupcake served at the wedding! And these make great gifts! Around Christmas, give Bitch to your girlfriends who have been naughty and Cupcake to your friends who have been nice! They're perfect.

My personal wine bar stocked with Reds, Whites, Rieslings, Grey Goose, Bacardi, and Baileys, and more.

Pinterest.com

This post is dedicated to a site I am absolutely, positively, deliriously in love with. Its a virtual pin-board to pin and organize any photos, ideas, crafts, anything you love on to your own created boards. Some of my boards I've created are 'DIY Crafts, Food with Style (recipes), Dreamy Homes, Photography I love, Travel and Find Yourself'...and a bunch more! I've been on it for about a few weeks now, and my addiction (thankfully) is getting a little more sane. When I first signed up, I could be on it for hours at a time - completely anti-social and oblivious to anything around me. Meaning a bomb could've went off and I would have still been on my macbook pinning pictures! But now I know when to click the little X on my browser and say, "ok Sandy... its time to slowly back away and... get back to work!" Below are some of my favorite pins to give you a little taste as always. Take a browse, and if you love it as much as I do, please follow me below and share in the brilliance of ideas! :)
